A letter From Coach Ron Everhart

I learned about Juvenile Diabetes after my good friend's son Braden Urick was diagnosed with this terrible disease. Diabetes is a very serious condition, but especially dangerous when it affects a very young child. As I learned more about Juvenile Diabetes, I realized how it can severely impact any of our children so quickly and sometimes fatally. Juvenile Diabetes truly encompasses every part of the day to day lives of these young children and their families.

I, along with the entire Basketball Community have become fully committed to do everything possible to try and eliminate this terrible form of Diabetes from our children's lives. It is our goal together, to help Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and their research team to find the cure.

     I take this opportunity to urge you to join our team in assisting in raising the funds needed for Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC Diabetes Research Fund to find a cure for Juvenile (type 1) Diabetes. With your help, we can win the battle against this terrible disease, for our children's sake.
